3M product advisor
A chatbot that matches a privacy filter to a laptop
Context
A specialist store selling 3M privacy filters. Dozens of models differing by diagonal, screen aspect ratio and mounting method. Without help, customers often bought the wrong size, and support kept answering the same fitting questions over and over.
Solution
An advisor chatbot we built from scratch. It leads the conversation like a good salesperson: identifies the customer's device, matches a product based on full specifications, quotes the price, availability and delivery time, including ordering the product directly from the USA.
Technology
Language models working on the store's catalogue data, integrated with stock levels. The bot answers only from the store's data and hands unusual cases to a human.
Result
Fewer wrong purchases and returns, fewer repetitive support enquiries, customers served outside working hours too. We will publish concrete numbers once we close the full measurement period.
